This curry is quite spicy. So please adjust the amount of chili powder according to your taste. This curry is called “mullangy curry” in Tamil.
Ingredients
- 2 cups white radish cubed
- 1½ cups water
- 1½ – 2 teaspoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
- ¼ teaspoon coriander powder
- salt to taste
- 1 cup red onion sliced
- 1 – 2 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 strand curry leaves
- 2 tablespoon milk or coconut milk
Method
- add canola oil to a covered saucepan and add the onion and fry until they are golden
- now add the radish to the onion and fry for about 5 minutes
- add water, salt and chili powder and cook covered for about 15 minutes
- add milk/coconut milk and cook for another 2 minute or until the sauce thickens
- add curry leaves and mix well and remove from the stove
- serve with warm rice
